Rowan weather: Heat on its way back

We had our break from the heat yesterday, but it’s coming back, with another heat wave starting tomorrow.

Today will be mostly cloudy with a high of 86. Calm wind will become southwest around 6 mph. There’s a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m., with a tenth to quarter inch of rain possible. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and hail.

Tonight’s chance of rain is also 60 percent, with showers and storms mainly before 8 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 70, with light south southwest wind. Another tenth of an inch of rain is possible. Expect patchy fog after 3 a.m.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and 92, with just a 20 percent chance of storms and showers before 1 p.m. West wind will be at 5-7 mph. The low will be 71, with mostly clear skies.

Friday will be sunny and hot, with a high of 93. Northeast wind around 5 mph will calm in the afternoon. The low will be 72 under mostly clear skies.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and 94, with a low of 72.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 94, with a low of 73.

Monday will be mostly sunny and 92. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is possible Monday night, with a low of 72.

Tuesday will have a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, but it will still be hot and sunny, with a high of 92.
