Letter: Immigration issue isn’t ‘right’ or ‘left,’ it’s ‘right’ or ‘wrong’

To all United States legislators: We as a nation are growing increasingly distressed at this administration’s zero-tolerance policy separating parents and children at our borders. This is an inhumane, immoral policy and is so far beneath everything that this country has stood for since our inception.
President Trump has stated that he will not sign any legislation exclusively dealing with this issue. If enough of our legislators band together to show the American people that we are better than this and vote with one voice, they can override his veto.
You have the power. We are begging you. Please work with each other to come together just one time. For the children. To do what is morally right. To honor our country’s principles.
Please don’t be complicit in this horrendous issue. Stand up for the children. Stand up for the country.
This is not a ‘left” or “right” issue. It’s a “right” or “wrong” issue. It is the very essence of our country’s soul.
