Graduation 2018: Early College All-County Scholar

Rowan County Early College’s All-County Scholar.

Megan Elizabeth Guzman

Megan Elizabeth Guzman is the daughter of Wendy Guzman and Patricia Barker of Salisbury. A senior at Rowan County Early College, she attended Granite Quarry Elementary School and C.C. Erwin Middle School.

In the fall, she will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she will study mathematics.

Favorite assigned book: “Ishmael” by Daniel Quinn.

Defining moment in my life: When my parents and I moved from New Jersey to Salisbury, North Carolina just before I started kindergarten. What a culture shock!

Secret to high school success: Never not doing an assignment. No matter how much I procrastinate, I never skip doing homework or extra credit, no matter how small it may seem. Also, showing up to and paying attention in class.

If I had $10 million: I would help my parents/family pay off their bills and pay for my college tuition, donate money to various animal organizations and schools I’ve attended, then invest the rest.
