SALISBURY — SoFul Yoga and Wellness of Salisbury is expanding to offer wellness services and treatments in a new wellness center, located on the ground floor below the yoga studio at 1024 S. Fulton St.

SoFul opened the only yoga studio in Salisbury in October 2017.

To celebrate the expansion, the new SoFul Wellness Center will host a grand opening from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3.

Both spaces — the wellness center downstairs and the yoga studio upstairs — will be open to the public.

Guests can tour the newly renovated space between Mean Mug Coffee Co. and Better Loafing Artisan Bread Co. and experience the Himalayan Salt Room, with its pink salt tile wall, salt bins and lamps and therapeutic infrared lights.

They can also enter a drawing for prizes such as massage and reflexology sessions, a nutrition consultation and yoga classes.

“We are really excited to be bringing these things together in one place to help people become healthier and stay that way,” said Nye Hartwick, one of the wellness center’s owners who teaches yoga and offers massage and energy therapy.

“It’s been my dream since I left the fashion business and became a holistic health coach to have a wellness center. Salisbury needs this,” said Maia Smith, former owner of Maia’s Fashions in downtown Salisbury.

Smith closed that business to pursue teaching yoga and open a nutrition and health coaching practice.

“This is my dream come true,” Smith said.

SoFul’s wellness therapy providers also include massage therapist Cara Effinger, holistic psychotherapist Angelina Kauffman and licensed reflexologist Natasha Smith.

The providers will be on hand during the open house to explain what services and treatments are available, answer questions and book appointments.

Descriptions, prices and appointments are also available at www.SoFulYoga.com/our-therapies.

As part of the grand opening, SoFul Yoga will hold an open house upstairs and offer two free 30-minute beginner yoga classes at 3 and 4 p.m.

Teachers will be available from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday to explain the classes at SoFul and help people find a good fit among the studio’s 20-plus weekly offerings taught by certified yoga instructors.

Monthly class schedule, class descriptions and teacher information are available at www.SoFulYoga.com and on the SoFul Salisbury Facebook page.

SoFul Yoga also offers a variety of workshops.

Next month, it will be offering yoga for opening hips on June 2 and a belly dancing playshop on June 9.

In July, senior instructors will lead a 210-hour yoga teacher training course on weekends through November.

Named after the South Fulton neighborhood where it is located, the SoFul Wellness Center is owned by Hartwick and Smith, who also provide wellness services in addition to teaching yoga.

SoFul Yoga and Wellness of Salisbury is co-owned by three of its yoga instructors — Hartwick, Smith and Christine Zimmer.
