SALISBURY — A Salisbury man who claimed to be the “son of God” was charged with exposing himself in the backyard of a stranger’s home.

Charles Randall Lomax, 23, of the 5500 block of Fish Pond Road, was charged with indecent exposure and second-degree trespassing. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $2,500 secured bond.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said that after midnight Thursday, a caller reported that a suspicious man was on the caller’s back porch with his shorts down and private parts showing. The man was performing a sex act, the caller said.

According to the report, Lomax left the property before deputies arrived, then later returned.

Deputies returned to the home and spoke with Lomax, who told them he had taken methamphetamine and that he was the “son of God.”

Lomax is expected in court June 25.
