Several street and road closures coming up in Salisbury and Rowan County

The city of Salisbury will close the 200 block of East Kerr Street through Friday for construction work related to 228 E. Kerr St. The block will remain closed day and night, and the sidewalk will also be closed.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will close the intersection of Potneck Road at Molasses Mill, a private road,  beginning Tuesday and through Friday for a cross-line replacement.  A detour route will be set up using U.S. 601 to Gheen Road, Jones Road, Woodleaf Road, Wetmore Road and Potneck Road.

The Salisbury Police Department issued a permit for a street closure for the Westcliffe Pig Picking on Saturday and Sunday. The street will be closed from noon until 6 p.m. both days.

The Police Department also issued a permit to close one lane at 1621 Emerald St. on Friday and Saturday for a yard sale fundraiser.

DOT will close St. Luke’s Church Road beginning at 8 a.m. May 29 at the St. Luke’s Church Road bridge. Work is scheduled for completion by September.  The detour route will be east on St. Luke’s Church Road to north on Barger to west on Stokes Ferry Road to south on Oddie Road and east on St. Luke’s Church Road, or vice versa.

The Salisbury Police Department also issued a permit to close downtown streets for Pops at the Post from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.  June 2. Church Street will be closed from West Innes to Fisher and Fisher to Jackson streets.
