Rowan weather: Same as it ever was

Another day of more of the same. Showers have been spotty and not as heavy as forecast, so even though today and tomorrow have an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, it doesn’t mean the whole day will be a washout.

Thunderstorms may start as early as 10 a.m. today, and patchy fog should stick around until then, too. Wind will be calm this morning, then southeast this afternoon around 6 mph. It will be cloudy and 77; a quarter to half inch of rain possible.

Tonight has the same 80 percent chance of rain, with thunderstorms before 3 a.m. You might see patchy fog before 9 p.m., then again after 1 a.m. The low will be 66, with south southeast wind at 6-9 mph. A half to three-quarters inch of rain is possible.

Patchy fog will hang around until 10 a.m. Friday, which also has that 80 percent chance of rain. The high will be 78, with south southeast wind around 8 mph. Rain totals could be a quarter to half inch.

Friday night, the chance of rain goes down to 60 percent, but with thunderstorms more likely. It will be cloudy and 66 with south southeast wind at 6-8 mph. Another quarter to half inch of rain is possible.

Saturday has a 60 percent chance of rain, with thunderstorms more likely after 2 p.m., so go to the Cheerwine Festival early. It will be cloudy and 79, with south wind at 5- mph.

The chance of rain Saturday night is only 30 percent, with thunderstorms possible around 5 a.m. The low will be 66 again.

Sunday, too, has just a 30 percent chance of showers and storms after noon. It will be mostly cloudy and 83. The same chance of rain continues Sunday night, with a low of 66 again.

Monday will have a 40 percent chance of showers and storms after 11 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 83. With the same chance of rain Monday night, the thunderstorms should taper off after 1 a.m. it will be mostly cloudy and 66.

Tuesday also has a 40 percent of showers and thunderstorms, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 83. Same thing Tuesday night, but mostly showers. The low will be 65.

Even Wednesday has a 50 percent chance of showers and storms. It will be mostly cloudy and 82.
