Blotter: Man steals two books from Rowan Public Library

SALISBURY — A man inquiring about books at Rowan Public Library ran past the checkout and stole the books, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

A library employee told the man he needed to check the books out, but he continued running. A witness said he saw the man get into a car.

The man was seen wearing a Seattle jacket and carrying a red backpack, police said. The books were valued at $59.90, library officials said.

• Charles Norris Holloway, 53, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor cyberstalking by email in the 300 Malcolm Road.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• A woman on Wednesday reported a break-in in the 4200 High Rock Road, Gold Hill.

• Alvin Scott Beck, 31, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 200 block of North Main Street.

• Brent Allen Randa, 38, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor stalking in the 200 block of North Main Street.
