Rowan weather: Sunny with a warming trend

Temperatures are rising today, headed for the 90s by the weekend.

Today will be sunny and 80, with light winds. Tonight will be mostly clear and 59, with south wind at 3-6 mph.

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms comes in Thursday, mainly after 2 p.m. It will be mostly sunny and 86, with warm southwest wind at 7-11 mph, gusting up to 18 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected; higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday night will be partly cloudy and 61, with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. West southwest wind at 6 mph will calm after midnight.

Friday will be sunny and 87, with calm wind. The low will be 63.

Make sure to get out the sunscreen and water bottles for Saturday. It will be mostly sunny and 90, with a low of 66.

Sunday, Mother’s Day, will be mostly sunny and 91. The low will be 66.

Monday brings a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with partly sunny skies and a high of 87. The chance of rain decreases to 30 percent Monday night, with a low of 63.

Tuesday will also have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be partly sunny and 84.
