Humane Society’s Lights of Love this Friday

Community Calendar

Lights of Love, a project of the Humane Society of Rowan County, will be held Friday night at Salisbury City Park Lake.

Each year, the organization sets up a display of luminaria around the lake in celebration of National Be Kind to Animals Week. The lights glow from dusk until 9:30 p.m.

Lights may be purchased for $3 each and may be placed in memory or in honor of people and animals.

To buy a light, call the Humane Society at 704-636-5700 and leave your contact information by Thursday night or email the information to hsrcnc1973@gmail.com. Payment should be mailed to HSRC, PO Box 295, Salisbury, NC 28145 or may be delivered to the event Friday evening.

The organization will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 2 in the 3000 block of Old Concord Road. Donations of new or used household and outdoor items in good condition are appreciated.  Contact the Humane Society to arrange for pick-up or delivery of donated items.

The Humane Society of Rowan County is a nonprofit volunteer animal welfare organization not affiliated with any government or other nonprofit organization and dependent on donations and fundraisers to support its care of sick or injured stray and abandoned animals. Donations are tax-deductible.
