Lights of Love, a project of the Humane Society of Rowan County, will be held Friday night at Salisbury City Park Lake.

Each year, the organization sets up a display of luminaria around the lake in celebration of National Be Kind to Animals Week. The lights glow from dusk until 9:30 p.m.

Lights may be purchased for $3 each and may be placed in memory or in honor of people and animals.

To buy a light, call the Humane Society at 704-636-5700 and leave your contact information by Thursday night or email the information to hsrcnc1973@gmail.com. Payment should be mailed to HSRC, PO Box 295, Salisbury, NC 28145 or may be delivered to the event Friday evening.

The organization will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 2 in the 3000 block of Old Concord Road. Donations of new or used household and outdoor items in good condition are appreciated.  Contact the Humane Society to arrange for pick-up or delivery of donated items.
