Salisbury-Rowan Newcomers Club annual game & card party

The Salisbury-Rowan Newcomers Club held its sixth annual game & card party on April 10 at the Salisbury Civic Center. All the proceeds from this event were donated to Rowan Helping Ministries’ Food for Thought program that helps to feed school age children who are food insecure in Rowan County. This program fills backpacks with food, and the backpacks are sent home with children for weekends and holidays.
This year the club was able to donate $4,100 to the program which will help to feed 16 children for an entire school year. The donation was due to the support and generosity of Newcomers members. Thanks local merchants who donated money and items for raffles and the silent auction.
