SALISBURY — Rowan County United Way is searching for volunteers over age 18 who have “an enthusiasm for collecting reliable, local-level data.”

Sixty surveyors are needed for shifts of either six or eight hours. The work will include going door-to-door and distributing a survey in randomly selected neighborhoods.

United Way is conducting the needs assessment to find out what residents say are the most pressing health and human service concerns in the county.

Volunteers will receive lunch, a T-shirt and a hat for their service. They will also be entered into a drawing to win a FitBit.

Potential volunteers must participate in a mandatory training session from 9 a.m. to noon May 10 at the Rowan United Way office, 1930 Jake Alexander Boulevard W.

The shifts for survey teams are noon to 6 p.m. May 10, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 11, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 12.

Anyone who is interested in joining a survey team should contact the United Way at 704-633-1802 or click here.
