The heat is climbing this week. Today’s high will be 83, with sunny skies and southwest wind at 7-10 mph.

Today, Friday and Saturday will be code yellow air quality days, meaning unusually sensitive people may be affected, such as those with heart or respiratory disease. Both ozone and particle pollution are to blame.

Tonight will be mostly clear and 57, with south southwest wind at 7 mph.

Friday will be sunny and 84, with southwest wind at 8-11 mph and gusts up to 21 mph. The humidity will also be a factor. The low will be 62, with south wind at 5-7 mph and mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday will have a 30 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m. The high will be 82, with mostly cloudy skies and south wind at 5-7 mph. It will be a code yellow air quality day for particle pollution.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night will be 50 percent, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 50.

Sunday will have a 30 percent chance of showers in the morning, then a chance of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 79. Sunday night’s chance of showers and thunderstorms will also be 30 percent, with a low of 58 and partly cloudy skies.

Monday will also have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. It will be mostly sunny and 78. Monday night has a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, with thunderstorms tapering off before 9 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 55.

Tuesday should be mostly sunny and 75, with a low of 55.

Wednesday, too, should be mostly sunny with a high of 79.
