PPT auditions for Tony Award-winning musical ‘Avenue Q’
May 29-30 at the Norvell Theater, 135 E. Fisher St.
Open auditions casting male and female singers/actors at least 18 years of age of all ethnic and racial backgrounds. Performers should prepare 16 bars from a song in the style of the show. Bring your sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.
Winner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart and tells the story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new friends struggle to find jobs, dates and their ever-elusive purpose in life.
Filled with humor, a catchy score and puppets, Avenue Q is similar to a beloved children’s show, where puppets are friends, monsters are good and life lessons are learned. This production contains adult content; viewer discretion is advised. For details, visit www.avenueq.com
Performances dates are July 26-Aug 4. Producing partner Carrol Fisher Construction Services, Fisher Realty & Salisbury Business Center.
