On May 8, voters in Kannapolis will have the opportunity to elect two members to the Kannapolis City Schools Board of Education. As a 14-year employee of the district, I am encouraging you to cast one of your votes for Brenda McCombs.

I am in the unique position of not only having worked with Brenda for Kannapolis City Schools, but I have also known her longer than any other local resident. Brenda and I met when we were high school students in Michigan, and over the past 45+ years, I have watched Brenda become a dedicated, organized and outstanding educator.

In her service as director of technology for Kannapolis City Schools, Brenda was able to bring in millions of dollars through grants to ensure that the students of KCS had the best technology tools available to fortify their education. She does not back down from a challenge and works for what is best for students and staff. Her incredible knowledge of the KCS school district means that she can hit the ground running and working for our students the minute she is sworn in.

I am extremely proud to call her my dear friend and would be even prouder of her as a school board member, continuing her passion for seeing our children become true 21st century learners. Please join me in voting for Brenda McCombs on May 8.
