Rep. Budd, Sen. Tillis, Sen. Burr:

I have never been more ashamed of my president than when I heard that he called Vladimir Putin to congratulate him on his re-election.

This was a fraudulent election that took place weeks after the horrific poisoning of a former spy on British soil and also in the midst of Americans learning the full extent of Russian interference in elections in Europe as well as our own 2016 presidential election.

We have turned our back on our closest ally, and I personally feel betrayed by the president. I am so very concerned about our lack of leadership, and I hope that North Carolinians can look to you to represent our deepest values as Americans and to stand for goodness in the world.

I urge you to use your platform to denounce our president’s un-American behavior. More than ever before, we are counting on you for moral leadership now.
