Looking at the Salisbury Post front page Friday morning, I know why our Duke Energy power bill is so outrageous. Its CEO makes enough money to feed and cloth half the world.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, needs that kind of salary. A lot of Duke’s customers are senior citizens on a set income and yet they take our hard-earned money to pay out extravagant salaries.

You could take a million from her and give all your customers a discount and she would never miss it.

I guess people are right when they say the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, but it’s a poor excuse for love our neighbor.
