SALISBURY — A 34-year-old Salisbury man was charged Wednesday with child abuse after police said he hit his stepson in the nose.

Erikson Douglas Courtney was arrested following an investigation after the boy boarded a school bus with a bloody nose.

According to Lt. Greg Beam, the boy gave conflicting accounts about how he was injured, first saying he got into a fight and then claiming he ran into a wall.

An investigation implicated Courtney, who was arrested in the 300 block of Ashbrook Road. He was charged with misdemeanor child abuse inflicting serious injury and assault on a child under 12.

Courtney was released on a written promise to appear in court April 14.

• Tamya Alexandra Denie Ford, 19, was charged with felony burglary in the 100 block of East Liberty Street on Tuesday.

• Jeffrey Mark Oglesby, 56, was charged Wednesday with felony obtaining property by false pretenses in the 700 block of North Church Street.

• Three women on Wednesday reported credit card fraud on Amberlight and Hallmark circles in Salisbury and Cloud Top Lane in Mooresville.

• A man reported a burglary in the 700 block of Amesbury Drive in Mount Ulla on Wednesday.

• A man reported a larceny in the 100 block of Roger Drive on Wednesday.

• A man on Thursday reported a stolen truck in the 14600 block of Old Beatty Ford Road in Gold Hill.

• Katelynn Marie Meister, 18, and Alexandria Sage Haas, 20, were charged Monday with misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance in the 4300 block of St. Peter’s Church Road and Stokes Ferry Road.

• Johnny Allen Stewart, 31, was charged with misdemeanor carrying concealed weapons in the 7900 block of Stokes Ferry Road and St. Peter’s Church Road.

• Kelly Renee Leach, 26, was charged Monday with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer in the 2300 block of St. Luke’s Church Road. On Thursday, she was charged with misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

• Hilda Mora Jijon, 26, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault in the 200 block of North Main Street on Monday.

• John Dodd Rakowski, 18, was charged Monday with misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance on St. Matthews Church Road.

• Jennifer Rena Leon, 36, was charged Monday with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer in the 200 block of Russell Ridge Road in Gold Hill.

• Valerie Shay Glover, 21, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault on Monday in the 2200 block of Needmore Road.

• Michael Parker Gobbel, 26, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury on Monday in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

• Jerry Phillip Tucker, 23, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

• Jack Melvin Lasley, 34, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer in the 100 block of Roy Miller Park Road.

• Randel Wayne Peacock, 60, was charged with felony common law robbery in the 3400 block of Poole Road on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on the premises of a penal institution in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

• Trey Authur Gilbert, 16, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor consuming alcohol by a person under age 19 in the 6200 block of Faith Road and Sweet Gum Lane.

• Gathen Justice Wood, 16, was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance in the 6200 block of Faith Road and Sweet Gum Lane.

• Daniel Carl Ringer, 17, was charged with a misdemeanor liquor law violation in the 6200 block of Faith Road and Sweet Gum Lane on Tuesday.

• Johnathan Tyler Smith, 20, was charged with a misdemeanor liquor law violation Tuesday in the 6200 block of Faith Road and Sweet Gum Lane.

• Chelsea Nicole Millsaps, 26, and Lane Alexander Perry, 24, were charged Tuesday with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer in the 15300 block of Mooresville Road in Mooresville.

• Kelley Denise Bell, 22, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in the 200 block of East Main Street in Rockwell.

• David Lucas Dyson was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer in Salisbury.
