Rowan Weather: Light snow giving way to rain

Brrrr. Snow flurries and light snow have moved through Rowan County, but temps are above freezing and schools are still in session. Rowan Weather says we will transition to light rain in a few hours as warm air moves in.
Happy Spring.
By the way, did you see lightning last evening as rain moved through?
Meanwhile, be glad you don’t live in the N.C. mountains or in the path of the nor’easter headed for our friends up North.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for 10 counties in western and northwestern North Carolina. Forecasters say up to 6 inches of snow is expected around Boone. Up to 2 inches of snow is possible in Asheville. And 1 inch was forecast from Winston-Salem to Durham.
The bulk of the nor-easter’s snow and sleet was expected to pound New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and parts of eastern Pennsylvania on Wednesday before heading toward Cape Cod early Thursday.
