SALISBURY — The West Innes Street Dairy Queen is offering a free ice cream cone today to raise money for a Charlotte children’s hospital.

Owner Melissa Utley said each year on the first day of spring, the Dairy Queen gives away a free small cone to customers. Each customer can choose vanilla, chocolate or a mix of the two flavors.

There is a limit of one cone per customer while supplies last.

Utley hopes customers will help the store raise money for Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. The business has been participating in the fundraiser for the past four years.

Nationally, Dairy Queen supports the Children’s Miracle Network. Money raised at Dairy Queens support the closest children’s hospital.

Dairy Queen is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is at 1004 W. Innes St.
