SALISBURY — A local man who was placed on the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office most-wanted list in December was arrested at his Old Concord Road home on Monday, authorities said.

Daniel Paul Luther, 34, a registered sex offender, was put on the list after removing his ankle monitor.

Luther was arrested at his residence in the 4000 block of Old Concord Road after the sheriff’s deputies received a tip from a caller who said Luther was at his house.

Luther ran from the deputies, who had gone to his home. After a short foot chase, he was taken into custody.

He was charged with felony interfering with an electronic monitoring device and issued a $75,000 secured bond.

Luther is also being held for a parole violation and failure to pay child support in Davidson County.

Luther was removed from the most-wanted list.

Luther was convicted in 2009 of felony indecent liberties with a child in Davidson County. He also has a number of misdemeanor convictions including breaking and entering, larceny, drug possession and communicating threats.
