CLEVELAND — A John Deere tractor worth $14,500 was reported stolen Feb. 13 from an address on Triplett Road in Cleveland, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas Jay Corbin, 24, of Yadkin River Road in Salisbury, and Keri Alise Harwell, 27, of Twilight Lane in Statesville, were charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle.

Later on Feb. 13, a caller told a deputy that several people had seen the tractor on Woodleaf-Barber Road in Rowan County. By the time deputies from the Rowan and Iredell County sheriff’s offices, the suspects had run from the tractor and left it parked in a wooded area.

The tractor was recovered and evidence was collected at the scene.

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office detectives followed up on several leads and gathered enough evidence to obtain felony arrest warrants for Corbin and  Harwell.

Corbin was arrested by Rowan County deputies at 215 Yadkin River Road in Salisbury. He was turned over to Iredell County detectives for questioning.

Corbin was taken before a magistrate. The arrest warrant was served, and he was given a $5,000 secured bond and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center.

Harwell is still wanted on a charge of larceny of motor vehicle. Anyone with information on Harwell’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3180 or Iredell Crimestoppers at 704-662-1340.
