Letter: Wake up, gun lobby

I totally support the Second Amendment. However, if the weapons of today were around when our Founding Fathers were amending the Constitution, I think they would have been a little specific about the arms we could bear as opposed to the military.

How this punk, loser kid from Florida got his hands on the weapon he did is troubling. All the other stuff he had with him is equally as troubling. Where do you go to buy a gas mask? Where can you pick p a bunch of smoke bombs? I don’t know if this zero had one, but most mass killers are wearing a bullet-proof vest while on their killing spree.

Where do you buy this stuff and when you do, shouldn’t it raise some sort of red flag? You don’t need those things so you can lounge around the house and watch television.

Many people contend that we need certain things to protect ourselves from the government. Trust me, if our government wanted to really take you out, your little makeshift arsenal would be no match for the U.S. military.

Enough of powerful lobbies “bribing” our politicians. We want common sense laws and common sense enforcement of them. I’m getting worn out reading about preventable tragedies
