Rowan weather: A very blustery day

Wind will be the main feature of today’s weather, with southwest wind at 9-14 mph and gusts up to 24 mph.

We’ll have a 20 percent chance of showers and mostly cloudy skies, but it will be warm, with a high of 72.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy and 59, with southwest wind around 15 mph, and gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday brings a 50 percent chance of showers and more wind. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected. It will be mostly cloudy and 74 again. Southwest wind of 10-15 mph will shift to the northwest in the afternoon and gust up to 22 mph. Friday night’s chance of showers and rain is 40 percent, with showers before 2 a.m., followed by rain. It will be cloudy with a low of 41. Northeast wind will calm to 5-8 mph. Again, less than a tenth of an inch is expected.

Rain returns Saturday — an 80 percent chance. It will be 47 with east northeast wind at 6-8 mph. The chance of rain Saturday night is 60 percent, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 36.

Sunday will be partly sunny with a high of 58 and a low of 42.

Clouds return Monday, President’s Day, with a 30 percent chance of rain and a high near 58. The same chance of showers is possible Monday night with a low of 50.

Tuesday, too, has a 30 percent chance of showers, with mostly cloudy skies and a warmer high around 68. Keep the showers in mind Tuesday night, with a low of 55.

Wednesday brings a 40 percent chance of showers, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 69.
