Historic Salisbury will sponsor ‘Farms & Barns’ bus tour this spring

SALISBURY — Historic Salisbury Foundation is introducing a spring tour this year — the Century Farms & Barns Bus Tour.

The April 28 tour on a Crosswinds bus will last from 9 a.m. to 4;30 p.m. The cost is $35 a person.

The tour will go through the southwestern part of Rowan County and include stops at five farm sites and the Corriher Grange.

The tour sites include the Villa Franca estate, the Henry Clinton Corriher Farm, the Moses Corriher Farm, Circle D Farms, the Jesse Chalmus Waggoner homeplace and the grange.

The ticket price includes bus fare, lunch and owner-led tours of these significant century-old farmhouses, barns and dependencies. the tour also offers viewings and stories behind many of the barn quilts in this rural area.
