Rowan weather: Watch for black ice this morning

We got some sort of freezing precipitation overnight. Cars had a heavy layer of frost/ice on them, and the grass was crunchy.

Beware of patches of black ice on some roads that remained wet throughout the night.

The temperature this morning is 32, but the sun should return and we’ll reach a high of 41. We’ll have to deal with cold winds from the northwest again today, starting at 6-15 mph and gusting up to 23 mph.

Tonight is going to be clear and very cold, with a low of 18. The wind will calm by evening.

Expect more sun Wednesday, with a high of 46. Winds will shift to the south southwest at 5-9 mph in the afternoon. The low will be 30, with mostly clear skies, so you should be able to see the super moon, also known as the blue moon.

A few clouds will move in Thursday, with a high of 56. Southwest winds will be at 7-14 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph. A 50 percent chance of showers is possible Thursday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 35.

Friday will be mostly sunny and 47, with a partly cloudy night and low of 20.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, too, with a high of 43. We’ll have a 30 percent chance of show showers after 5 a.m., with a low of 29.

Sunday has a 50 percent chance of rain and snow showers, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 47.

Snow and rain showers will continue Sunday night, with a 40 percent chance of precipitation. The low will be 32.

Monday will have a 30 percent chance of rain and snow showers, but will be partly sunny and 46.
