Rowan weather: Clouds, then rain moves in

Today through Friday will be cloudy with varying chances of rain, and it will get steadily warmer. But we’re back below normal for Sunday.

You’ll see some patchy fog between 8 and 10 a.m. today, then cloudy skies, with a high of 53 and east northeast wind at 3-5 mph.

Tonight, a 40 percent chance of rain moves in after 11 p.m., with patchy fog after midnight. It will be mostly cloudy and 39 with northeast wind at 3-5 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Thursday’s chance of rain and showers is 80 percent, with rain before 8, then showers throughout the day. It will be 54, with northeast wind at 3-5 mph. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

We’ll have the same chance of rain Thursday night, with a low of 50 and calming wind. Another quarter to half inch of rain is possible.

Friday has an 80 percent chance of rain, too, with rain before 9 a.m. and showers and possibly thunderstorms through 3 p.m. The high will be 64 with south southwest wind at 5-9 mph.

And Friday night’s chance of rain and thunderstorms is also 80 percent. The low will be 44.

Finally, Saturday should be mostly sunny and 50, but with a cold low of 24.

Sunday will be mostly sunny, too, but much cooler, with a high of 39, and we’ll drop to 20 degrees Sunday night.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be mostly sunny and chilly, with a high of 40 and a low of 23.

Tuesday should be mostly sunny and 44.
