Education shoutouts

Shive Elementary

The following students have been recognized as January Good Citizens for the character trait “compassion.” Each student received a certificate, a Star Student dog tag and had his/her picture on the Good Citizen board for the month.

Kindergarten: Aiyana Covington, Jeremiah Haaland, Zachary Riddle, Paige Miller, Riley Riggs and Haven Bebber.

First grade: Charlotte Sammons, Frankie Johnson, Payden Gibson, Kayla Kepley, Landon Hiatt, Ayden Frasier, Bella Jones and Alli Talley.

Second grade: Collin Shuffler, Shayla Hodge, Estrella Pineda, Bradley Hayes, Brooklyn Aldridge and Lilly Box.

Third grade: Bryson Prevette, Hayli Taylor, Kylee Edmunds, Brent Peeler, Raeden Swinson, Sofie Morgan, Preston Clere, Konnor Karriker and Molly Steed.

Fourth grade: Caroline Quick, Jacob Gibson, Elijah Morgan, Makenzie Jenkins, Jessie Torrence, Lizzie Callahan-Fletcher, Abraham Flores and Alyssa Goldsmith.

Third grade: McKenzie Powers, Chandler Moffitt, Kylee Bowles, Lane Jenkins, Logan Buckles and Karlee Lyons.

Fourth grade: Ashtyn Eagle, Addison Fowler, Tyler Madden and Lainey Fisher.

Fifth grade: Kaycee Lyons, Isabella Baber, Jadyn Steele, Andrew Carter, Summer Hill, Linda Ramirez and CJ Sihler.

The Citadel

Rian D. Burris, grandson of Ric and Susan Burris, of Kannapolis, achieved the Deans List for academic achievement from The Citadel, located in Charleston, S.C. for the fall semester.
