A homeless man from Iredell County who is a registered sex offender was charged with having pornographic images on electronic devices.

Investigators learned from the N.C. probation and parole agency that Kevin Anthony Foster, 26, possibly had images of child pornography on his electronic devices and that he had multiple social media accounts that had not been reported to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Foster was convicted in 2013 of felony indecent liberties with a child. He served time in prison and was placed on 36 months of supervised probation. He also was placed on the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry for 30 years.

State law requires registered sex offenders to notify the local sheriff’s office of all online identifiers, such as profile names on social media accounts.

After his 2013 conviction, Foster was ordered to follow special conditions for sex offenders, which includes submitting to warrantless searches by probation officers and prohibits the use or possession of pornographic material.

An inspection of the electronic devices showed numerous images of pornographic material.

Foster was charged and arrested on Nov. 30 for violation of probation and was placed under $100,000 secured bond.

The electronic devices were turned over to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, which found evidence to warrant additional charges.

Foster has been charged with two felony counts of failing to inform of new or changed online identifiers and is being held without bond.
