St. John’s Men’s Chorus will present Christmas concert Sunday afternoon

Staff report

SALISBURY — The Men’s Chorus of St. John’s Lutheran Church will present its annual Christmas concert at 4 p.m. Sunday in the church sanctuary.

This year’s concert is titled “Sing to the Child.”

The Men’s Chorus is directed by Jason Harwood and accompanied by Janie R. Rollins. Rob Durocher, minister of music at St. John’s, also will be playing with the chorus on several selections.

In addition, the St. John’s handbell choir, under the direction of Kimberly Lentz, will be featured.

The performance is free and open to the public. During the concert, the audience will be invited to contribute an offering to the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County.

The church is at 200 W. Innes St.

The Men’s Chorus was founded in 1994 by Rosemary C. Kinard.

Besides the selections from the Men’s Chorus, Sunday’s concert will include congregational carols, readings and reflections.

The Men’s Chorus also will sing at St. John’s Lutheran’s 11 a.m. Service of Lessons and Carols on Dec. 17.
