Bridge news
At this time of year with all the holiday commotion, it is fun to take a few hours out of the maelstrom to play some bridge with friends. We have a full December schedule with five Evergreen games on Fridays and four Women’s Club games on Tuesday.
Two STaC games are in the works; Tuesday, Dec. 12 at the Women’s Club and Friday,Dec. 15 at Rufty-Holmes Evergreen game.
What is a STaC game? It is a Sectional Tournament at Clubs. This means that points awarded are higher than usual club awards and that your scores are compared with all other player’s scores in the other clubs in our unit. If your score is better than others in the unit, you get even higher point awards. These points are potentially Silver points. Be sure to put these games on your calendars.
Another date of note is our Women’s Club/Evergreen Christmas Party being held at 6 p.m. at Santo’s Italian Grill Thursday, Dec. 7, the one on E. Innes St., not Fisher Street. All coming should have signed up by now.
Our Tuesday, Nov. 28 Women’s Club Championship game was the largest crowd in five years. We welcomed our Concord friends, enjoyed their company and hope they make Tuesday’s game a habit. Thanks Concord.
