Union Chapel AME Zion 

LINWOOD — Union Chapel AME Zion Church, 4329 Sowers Road, will be celebrating its 144th church anniversary Sunday starting at 11 a.m. with the morning service.

Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. and the 3 p.m. speaker will be Rev. Tyquan Alston of Swift Street AME Zion Church of Greensboro. Rev Michael Frencher Jr. is host pastor.


Pine Ridge Baptist candlelight memorial service

Pine Ridge Baptist Church will hold a Candlelight Memorial Service Sunday night at 6 p.m. to remember and call out the names of loved ones and dear friends.


Advent at Gloria Dei

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church’s Midweek Advent services will begin Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. in the main sanctuary. This is a time of prayer and worship to prepare hearts and minds for the celebration of Christmas. The church is located at 1908 Statesville Blvd.
