Some government offices and services will be closed or unavailable over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Rowan-Salisbury Schools

• Classes will be dismissed two and a half hours early today for students because of the Southern Rowan Christmas Parade. Wednesday is a holiday for students and an annual leave day for teachers. The Wallace Educational Forum will be open until 1 p.m. Wednesday. All schools and offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Schools reopen Monday.

Salisbury

• City office, customer service and all four recreation centers will close at noon Wednesday. City offices will reopen Monday.
• Transit service will be limited Wednesday. Because of the annual holiday parade, there will be no service between 1:20 and 4:40 p.m. There will be no service on Thursday. Service on Friday and Saturday will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
• The city’s solid waste division will pick up garbage and recycling on its regular schedule. There will be no leaf or limb collection Thursday or Friday.
• Fibrant technical support will maintain regular hours. For assistance, call 704-638-5300.
• Salisbury-Rowan Utilities offices will close at noon Wednesday and reopen Monday. For water or sewer emergencies, call 704-638-5339.
• Salisbury Community Park will be closed Thursday and open on its regular schedule Friday.

Rowan Public Library

• The library will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday and reopen Saturday.

Municipal offices

• Spencer Town Hall will close at noon Wednesday for the Holiday Caravan. It will be closed Thursday and Friday. Trash pickup will be on a normal schedule.

• Landis Town Hall will close at noon today because of the Southern Rowan Christmas Parade. Offices will also close Thursday and Friday.

• China Grove town offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. No utilities or services will be affected.

• Rockwell Town Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday. Trash pickup will operate on a normal schedule.

• Granite Quarry town offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Trash pickup may run a day late the following week.

• East Spencer Town Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday. Trash pickup will be on Saturday.

• Cleveland town offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Trash pickup will be on Saturday.

Kannapolis

• All city of Kannapolis offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
• There will be no garbage, recycling or loose leaf collection Thursday and no loose leaf collection on Friday. Garbage and recycling pick-up will operate on a one-day delay. Loose leaf collection will resume Monday.
