Rowan weather: Good weekend, except for Saturday night rain

Another cold one to start, with a pretty thick layer of ice on the cars. Skies will become sunny, with a high of 58.

East northeast wind will blow at 5 mph. Clouds will move in tonight, with a low of 37. Winds will shift to the south at 5 mph after midnight.

Saturday will be partly sunny with a high of 63 and south southwest wind at 8-15 mph, gusting up to 26 mph.

Showers are likely Saturday night between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. The low will be 43 with south southwest wind at 11-18 mph becoming west after midnight; gusts could be as high as 29 mph. The chance of rain is 70 percent. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Sunday will be sunny and 53, with west northwest wind at 7-13 mph, gusting up to 18 mph. The low will be 28, with mostly clear skies.

Monday will be sunny and 53, with a low of 32.

Tuesday, the day of the Southern Rowan Christmas Parade, will be mostly sunny with a high of 58. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low of 37.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 59, not bad for watching the Holiday Caravan Parade. The low will be 36 under mostly cloudy skies.

Thanksgiving Day will be mostly sunny and 55, so get out there and toss the football around.
