Rowan officials: No foul play suspected in death of person found behind Magic Mart
SALISBURY — Rowan County investigators said Thursday they do not suspect foul play after a body was found Wednesday behind the former Magic Mart store.
Officials said the body may be linked to a missing person case reported in May.
Investigators with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the SBI found the body in a wooded area behind the building at 725 S. Jake Alexander Blvd.
Investigators were following up on information involving a person reported missing in May to the Sheriff’s Office. Detectives located the body with the use of a cadaver dog.
The remains have been sent to the N.C. Medical Examiner’s Office for a positive identification.
Officials did not release any further details about the case.
