Once again columnist Leonard Pitts (“President is a poster boy for privilege,” Sunday) misses the point, widely.

His contention was that Obama was unfairly roughed up for a lack of patriotism, citing as an example his failure to wear an American flag lapel pin, and, typical for Pitts, because he was black.

I’d rather think it was for more substantial issues, such as drawing and dropping the famous red line, or drastically reducing our military budget. And let’s not forget his disregard of ISIS, calling it the “JV” team

I don’t question his patriotism. He was just an ineffective president.
