I volunteered with Al Heggins in a few activities involving many people from different walks of life. I am always struck by how well she brings everyone together for a common purpose, how knowledgeable she is in the areas required to do this, and how gracefully and humbly she manages it all. She knows how to empower the community, which starts with us as individuals.

When we as individuals feel hopeless, powerless, like we are not agents acting in our own benefit, that is when we lose hope. Al has nothing but hope in her heart, never pointing the finger and always stepping up to the plate.

I am so proud to be voting for Al Heggins on Nov. 7.
