Letter: Nature gives way to a strip mall

Published 12:00 am Saturday, October 21, 2017

Goodbye, ole friends! With the new strip mall coming to Faith Road and the existing forest being removed, we will certainly miss the “friends” we’ve made over the years.

We will miss watching the pair of hawks nesting in the tallest tree. We will miss our neighbor, who’s home borders the new strip mall, calling us and telling us the deer are coming our way. We will miss seeing their tracks in the snow.

We will miss the same neighbor telling us to look in our backyard and seeing a wild turkey that had just come from the same forest.

It’s been great having the convenience of living in the city while enjoying nature and God’s gifts to us.

Goodbye, ole friends. So sorry to see you go. We will miss you terribly!
