Fairgrounds to host Fin, Feather, Fur Festival

SALISBURY — The Rowan County Fairgrounds will host a three-day festival that includes music, monster trucks, fireworks and vendors starting Friday.
The Fin, Feather and Fur Expo will open at 3 p.m. Friday and continue into the night. On Saturday and Sunday, gates will open at 10 a.m.
On Friday, the band Thompson Square will play. Saturday’s schedule includes the Throttle King Championship, and Sunday’s schedule offers ATV racing.
Organizer Garrett Barger said vendors and attractions will be stationed across the fairgrounds similar to the annual county fair. Chain-saw sculptor Chad Gainey will be one of the attractions, Barger said.
Tickets are $35 on Friday, $15 on Saturday and $5 on Sunday.
The schedule is as follows:
• Friday: competitor gate opens at noon, main gate opens at 3 p.m., back-to-back pulling is at 6 p.m., Joe Lasher Jr. plays at 7 p.m. and Thompson Square plays at 8:30 p.m.
• Saturday: competitor gate opens at 9 a.m., main gate opens at 10 a.m., the Throttle King Championship runs throughout the day, an archery tournamentis all day and fireworks will follow the crowning of the Throttle King Champion.
• Sunday: competitor gate opens at 9 am., main gate opens at 10 a.m., Carolina Flat Track Riders Series ATV racing is at 1 p.m. and practice will start at 11 a.m.
