EAST SPENCER — The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 15-year-old was struck by a car early Monday morning on the corner of North Long and West Earnhardt streets in East Spencer.

According to sources, the victim was taken to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. His condition was unknown Monday.

The Sheriff’s Office assisted in directing traffic while the East Spencer Police Department investigated.
