Woman arrested, charged with stealing from victim of attempted murder

SALISBURY — A woman is accused of stealing the wallet of a man who was shot multiple times at a house on Green Street.

Roneisha Woodruff, 27, turned herself in Thursday.

Police say Woodruff went through the pockets of Corey Parnell Sims after he was shot and fell to the ground about 3 a.m. Sept. 17 at 802 Green St. She stole his wallet, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Damion Jermaine Morrow has been charged with attempted murder in Sims’ shooting. Woodruff was with Morrow during the incident.

Morrow, 39, also turned himself in Thursday.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

Sims was shot in the head and taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was later transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and has since been released.

Woodruff was charged with larceny and is being held under a $1,000 secure bond.
