Rowan weather: Sunny and hot

The skies cleared just in time for us to get a good view of the eclipse, and for a few moments, the temperature did drop.

Today will be mostly sunny and 90 with south southwest wind at 5-9 mph. Tonight, we will have a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 72 and south southwest wind around 6 mph. Expect patchy fog around 5 a.m.

The fog may linger until 8 a.m. Wednesday, which will be partly sunny and 90 with west wind at 3-5 mph. We have a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m., but less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Showers and storms continue Wednesday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 65 with light north winds. Less than a tenth of an inch is expected, except higher in thunderstorms.

Thursday has a 20 percent chance of rain before 11 a.m., then it will be partly cloudy and 81, a break from the heat. The low will be 62.

Friday will be mostly sunny and 81, with a low of 63.

Saturday’s high of 83 will be under mostly sunny skies. The low will be 62.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 80, with a low of 61.

And Monday will also be mostly sunny and 80.
