GRANITE QUARRY – N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews must close a section of Coley Road near the intersection with Balfour Quarry Road while they replace a failing cross line pipe with a new culvert in Granite Quarry.

Crews will close the road at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21. It is scheduled to reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, weather permitting.

Drivers should use Balfour Quarry Road, East Third Street and Kluttz Road as the signed detour route.

Transportation officials advise drivers to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
