SALISBURY — Fire officials say an employee at Power Curbers was burned in a small fire at the plant, 727 Bendix Drive.

Salisbury Fire Department officials said the fire, which occurred sometime before 3 p.m. Tuesday, was out before firefighters arrived.

The initial responders canceled mutual-aid calls after they determined the fire was already out, said Battalion Chief Jay Baker.

Baker said it was a flash fire in a paint booth. The employee was burned on an arm, but Baker said he didn’t know the extent of the burn. The employee was treated at the scene by fire personnel and Rowan EMS personnel.

The Salisbury Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire, Baker said.

Power Curbers manufactures concrete paving equipment and curb machines.
