Back to School 2017: Kannapolis City Schools

Kannapolis City Schools begin Monday, Aug. 28.

School start times have changed for the 2017-18 school year, and are as follows:

Elementary:  8:45 a.m.-3:40 p.m.

Middle: 7:15 a.m.-2:10 p.m.

High:  8 a.m.-2:55 p.m.

 

Forest Park Elementary, 1333 Forest Park Drive, Kannapolis.

Open house will be Thursday, Aug. 24, at the following times: from 1 to 3 p.m. for kindergarten, 3 to 4:30 p.m. for first and second grade and from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for third through fifth grades.

G.W. Carver Elementary, 525 East C St., Kannapolis.

Jackson Park Elementary, 1400 Jackson St., Kannapolis.

Shady Brook Elementary, 903 Rogers Lake Road, Kannapolis.

Woodrow Wilson Elementary, 800 N. Walnut St., Kannapolis.

Open house will be Thursday, Aug. 24, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Kannapolis Middle School, 1445 Oakwood Ave., Kannapolis.

Open house will be Saturday, Aug. 26, at the following times: 10:30 a.m. for sixth grade, 11:30 a.m. for seventh grade and 12:30 p.m. for eighth grade.

A.L. Brown High School, 415 East First St., Kannapolis.

Principal Dr. Todd Parker. Contact the school at 704-932-6125.

Freshman orientation will be Tuesday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students should meet in front of Bullock Gym. This three-hour orientation is for students only. A parent meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Bullock Gym.
