Back to school 2017: Giveaways

Gethsemane Missionary Church
Saturday, Aug. 12, at Gethsemane Missionary Church, 719 S. Caldwell St. from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Will be giving away book bags and more. This giveaway is first-come, first-served. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Giveaway to be held at Rockwell library
A book bag and school supply giveaway will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, at Rowan Public Library East Branch, 110 Broad St., Rockwell, beginning at 10 a.m. Roughly 200 book bags, filled with school supplies, will be available, along with school uniforms.
The Refuge Church of God in Christ
The Refuge Church of God in Christ, 1202 Short St., will have a “Back to School Community Fun Fest” on Saturday, Aug. 12. The giveaway begins at 11 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m. 
Families and students will be able to enjoy the day of free food, free clothes, free school supplies, free hair cut and hair style vouchers, bouncy houses, inspirational speakers and much more. There will be giveaways such as free Carowinds tickets as well.
