Thousands of people turned out at Village Park in Kannapolis on Friday evening for the annual open-air concert by the Charlotte Symphony. The show was capped off with a 15-minute fireworks display.
More fireworks are planned today in the region to celebrate the Fourth. They include a show at 10:30 p.m. at the Faith Fourth of July celebration. Other festivities are 4-11:30 p.m. in Harrisburg and 6-9 p.m. in Lexington.
