Rowan weather: Rain likely today, tonight

Looks like the weekend is going to start off a little wet. We have a 70 percent chance of showers today, with thunderstorms possible after 5 p.m.

The rain could be heavy enough to trigger flash floods, so pay attention to where you’re driving.

It will be mostly cloudy and 81, with south wind at 3-8 mph. A quarter to half inch of rain can be expected, except for higher amounts in storms.

Tonight’s chance of showers and storms is 60 percent, and fog will form toward the morning hours. The low will be a sticky 70 degrees, with south wind at 5-7 mph. Another quarter to half inch of rain is possible.

Saturday’s chance of rain is 40 percent, with thunderstorms possible after 10 a.m. It will be partly sunny and 88 with south southwest wind around 6 mph. A tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

The rain chance drops to 30 percent Saturday night, with partly cloudy skies and a low of 71. Wind will calm and rainfall totals will be low.

Sunday brings a mostly sunny, hot day, with a high of 90 and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The same chance of rain continues Sunday night, with a low of 69.

The Fourth of July will be sunny and hot, with a high of 92. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms moves in before midnight, with a low of 70.
