Ambulance overturns, no injuries to medics

SALISBURY — Two medics were not seriously injured in a Sunday evening single-vehicle crash while en route to a cardiac arrest patient, according to a N.C. Highway Patrol report.

The driver, Ryan Brown, was traveling on Providence Church Road when he ran off the road to the right, overcorrected then crossed the double yellow line and ran off the left side of the road. The ambulance collided with a mailbox at 1469 Providence Church Road while coming back onto the road and overturned onto the driver’s side.

Brown and another medic, Joshua Morin, were not injured. There was no passenger aboard the ambulance. A report says Brown was driving below the 55 mph posted speed limit. He was estimated to be traveling 45 mph. The damage to the mailbox was around $250 and the damage to the ambulance was around $6,000.

Brown was not charged.
