First United Methodist Church awards scholarships

SALISBURY — First United Methodist Church presented the Roy and Lula Goodman Scholarships to 22 students during Senior Sunday on June 4.
The scholarship was endowed by the Goodmans in memory of their son Lany.
First-time awards were presented to rising college freshman: Steven Anderson, son of Robert and Lynn Anderson, University of North Carolina at Asheville; Marissa Brinkley, daughter of William and Trish Brinkley, University of Tampa; Samantha Hensley, daughter of Michael and Sarah Hensley, UNC-Wilmington; Katie Howard, daughter of Tim and Kim Howard, UNC-Greensboro; Dakota Insley, daughter of Jeff and Debbie Insley, Furman University; Jennifer Kribbs, daughter of Jack and Kerry Kribbs, UNC-Chapel Hill; and Morgan Warren, daughter of Harry and Catherine Warren, New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
Renewing their scholarships are: Connor Johnson, son of Craig and Lynne Johnson, rising senior at Catawba College; Haley Watts, daughter of Rob and Jean Watts, senior at UNC-Charlotte; Savannah Cox, wife of Parker Cox, rising junior at Western Carolina University; Jacob Daye, son of Jeff and Robin Daye, rising junior at N.C. State University; Matthew Langford, son Glenn and Patty Langford, rising junior at Appalachian State University; Cassidy Nooner, daughter of Tim and Cindy Nooner, rising junior at Appalachian State; Kaleb Robinson, son of Jimmy and Allison Robinson, rising junior at Appalachian State; Callie Slife, daughter of Bob and Betty Slife, rising junior at UNC-Chapel Hill; Parker Williams, daughter of Gregg and Lauren Williams, rising junior at UNC-Charlotte; Arielle Wimmer, daughter of Mark and Amy Wimmer, rising junior at the University of Virginia; Susan Barker Fowler, daughter of Joe and Susan Fowler, rising sophomore at the University of Mississippi; Wesley Fazia, son of Brian and Betsy Fazia, rising sophomore at the University of Tennessee; Amelia Steinman, daughter of Todd and Mary Heather Steinman, rising sophomore at N.C. State; William Steinman, son of Todd and Mary Heather Steinman, rising sophomore at the University of South Carolina; and Spencer Story, son of Andy and Diana Story, rising sophomore at the University of Florida.
